Equity, Inclusion and Diversity

Diversity is invaluable and crucial to innovative research and we strive for our institute to be diverse, inclusive and equitable to everyone. With “diversity” we refer to the entire range of human differences, which includes but is not limited to differences in gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, socio­economic status, religion and language.

Terms of Reference 

To advance our mission, the API EIDC will strive to:

  • Serve as an educational resource on diversity issues for the API.

  • Make recommendations on best practices in hiring and retention for the API.

  • Raise awareness of diversity issues and best practices for creating and maintaining an

  • inclusive environment within the API

  • Support students, staff, and faculty who are struggling with diversity issues by referring

  • them to appropriate third-party resources

  • Provide consultation for the API Director on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion
