IXA (Innovation Exchange Amsterdam) is the valorization institute of the five universities in Amsterdam (UvA, VU, AMC, VUmc and HvA) and is available for all API employees (and students).

Together with the researcher business developers can review the stakeholders and customers and evaluate the various options for valorization. Collaboration with one or more external parties is usually a key aspect of the valorization process and the developers can help you identifying potential partners. When it comes to negotiating the terms of such a collaboration and drawing up a contract, legal advisors have the expertise. Closing agreements that suit the interests of all parties involved is quite a challenge. For academics, negotiating with commercial parties can be daunting. IXA gladly accompanies researchers during the negotiations and can help defend their academic interests and can assist in ensuring an optimal position for the researcher's group or institute. The research funding team supports the applications for research grants to help increasing the chances for success. Furthermore, IXA hosts a number of courses and workshops that assist researchers in exploring the valorization process and specific topics related to that.

In this talk, I will present how IXA can help researchers and in which cases researchers should contact the office. I hope to show that Valorization and Astronomy are not impossible to combine.
