The Netherlands eScience center is a dedicated team working at the interface of scientific disciplines and digital technology. Our goal is to enable digitally enhanced research through efficient utilization of data, software and e-infrastructure. In support of this goal we fund and participate in (multidisciplinary) projects with academia. The eScience Center is a joint initiative of the Dutch national research council (NWO) and the Dutch organization for ICT in education and research (SURF). Our core expertise are in the fields of optimized data handling, efficient computing and big-data analytics at their core. During the talk I (Ben de Vries, PhD in astronomy) want to introduce you to the eScience center, its practices, opensource software packages and ways for partnership in and funding of your projects.
