The priz

Associate Professor of Astronomy, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science.

Oklopčić has designed a new method for observing planets that are in the process of losing their atmosphere, as is the case with Mars, for example. What is innovative about her approach is that this method was not only developed theoretically but also tested experimentally. In addition, Oklopčić has developed a new theoretical model for escaping atmospheres of exoplanets, which provides insight into the changes of planets after their birth. In doing so, she brings to light new fields of research and opens the way for other techniques to study atmospheric loss in exoplanets.
