Abstract: 

Nearly 60 years after their discovery, we have made huge progress in our understanding of neutron stars. But the list of open questions is equally long! I’ll discuss what we have learned about these enigmatic and energetic stars from observations across the electromagnetic spectrum (and beyond), and the major puzzles that remain.
