We have a few telescopes available that you can borrow for free from the Amsterdam public library, the OBA to discover the night sky from your own home.
One of the library telescopes in evening twilight

The telescope is a tabletop dobsonian telescope that allows views of the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn and the craters of the moon. With a bit of practice and patience, it even allows views of so-called 'deep sky objects'.

There are several telescopes available in a number of library locations in the city. Some of the locations have a wait list (especially Oosterdok).
